After several evenings and nights of testing, we can confirm that this cuddly toy is ideal for accompanying your child through a peaceful bedtime ritual. Four sound effects can be selected, in addition to a soft melody: white fan noise, heartbeat, intrauterine sounds and breathing punctuated by little snores. It is this last mode, which is totally original, that convinced us the most, in addition to the general quality of the plush, both in terms of material and sound design.
White noise cuddly toys make repetitive sounds that reassure babies and help them fall asleep.
Most cuddly toys have an automatic shut-off feature, which is useful for saving batteries.
It is best to choose a model with a removable battery so that the plush can be washed properly.

In practice, this toy has the least amount of white noise, but it is still good value for money if you want to test its effectiveness without investing too much. During our tests, we were able to note its good general design, the removable case, allowing the plush to be machine washed, and the success of the projection of stars on the ceiling with our little testers. Among the variety of sounds, the bird chirps were also a big hit. This model is undoubtedly an interesting way of helping your child fall asleep calmly.
MyHummy Matt Bluetooth
This connected plush toy is certainly the most modern and complete of this selection. Indeed, the dedicated app allows you to activate and set the device remotely.
MyHummy’s plush toys have become a must in the field of white noise and our tests have only confirmed their reputation. Available in three versions, we have selected the most advanced of them: the connected plush, which can be adjusted remotely via the dedicated App. It offers five different sounds: white, pink, waves, rain and intrauterine sounds with heartbeats. Amongst the features, we appreciated the 16 level volume control, but also the possibility to specify the sensitivity of the cry sensor, which brings a rather unprecedented adaptability to this kind of device. Finally, the “Nanny” mode, which replaces a real baby monitor, was enough to convince us.
Tommee Tippee Bennie the Bear
This little teddy bear hangs on the edge of the bed or the buggy to comfort a baby with its sounds, lullabies and soft light. It is distinguished by the presence of a cry sensor.
In our tests, this plush toy stood out for its ease of use, as the controls are operated by the teddy bear’s paws: white noise on one side and melodies on the other, three on each side. One of the feet is used to turn on the light in his belly, on three levels, while the other foot is used to adjust the sound, also on three levels. Bennie the teddy bear has an effective cry sensor, a rare feature in this price range. Finally, we also appreciate its rechargeable battery operation.

Bubzi Co (£29.97 upon publication): A less balanced quality/price value. This cuddly toy functions almost identically to Badabulle’s Lulu the sheep, which was selected as the”Best budget”. Although we found the same qualities in our tests, it is simple, its less balanced quality/price ratio that led us to leave it out of our main selection. However, its wide-eyed owl-like appearance may make a difference to your child.
Sweet Dreamers Ewan (£39.99 upon publication): A baby sheep with a little heart. This model has four white noises, namely heartbeat, falling rain, hoover noise and harp melody. Its heart lights up with a soothing red light, which our little testers really liked. If its qualities make it stand up very well to the more recent models on the market, the Deluxe version, equipped with a cry sensor and machine washable, would certainly stand out better from the competition.

How to choose your white noise plush toy?
It’s no secret that the issue of baby sleep is one of the most pressing for young parents. Have you already installed a nightlight on the bedside table, the best mattress, or a baby monitor, but nothing works?
If your little one is having trouble falling asleep, perhaps a white-sounding musical cuddly toy could be the solution. These play an almost hypnotic sound that induces baby to sleep.
To help you choose the most suitable product for your baby, here is a list of criteria to consider before purchase:
- The choice of sounds: the most common white noises are often related to hoovers, hairdryers, etc. Intrauterine sounds and heartbeats are also very effective, as are splashing water or birdsong. Many cuddly toys also offer lullabies. In the end, a large number of sounds may not be necessary, but the variety of them can be interesting in finding the one that will work best with your child.
- Adjustable volume: sensitivity to noise really does depend on the individual. An adjustable volume is therefore ideal to best adapt the functioning of the cuddly toy to the child’s environment, but also to preserve the sleep of a possible parent or another child sleeping in the same room.
- Automatic switch-off: this is essential for this type of toy so that the baby is not exposed to white noise all night long. It also saves on batteries.
- The cry sensor: the sensor detects the baby’s cry and resets the white noise to help the baby fall back to sleep.
- Night light mode: some are equipped with a light, which is projected on the walls of the room or emanates from the soft toy. This soothes babies who are worried or afraid of the dark, and can sometimes be dissociated from the sound function.
- Maintenance: it is most practical to invest in a model with a removable battery, so that the cuddly toy can be washed properly and without hassle.
That said, there are no miracle solutions and every baby has his or her own sensations. Some will fall under the charm of the cuddly toy and fall asleep in no time, while others may even ignore it.
