    Design

    6

When we unpacked the machine, we found a fairly classic centrifuge. Although it is not the most compact we have tested, it is not too imposing.

Most of the parts are made of plastic, except for the sieve and spout, which are made of stainless steel. Note that apart from the slightly smoky lid, the other plastic parts are black, which avoids discolouration from food pigments.

We like the fact that this Frutelia + has a 0.95 litre pulp container, but we think it’s a shame that it doesn’t have a juice container or a brush for easy cleaning. Also, note that no recipe is provided.

Furthermore, it does not offer the widest chimney we have tested with only 6 cm. This means that you have to chop up a lot of fruit and vegetables beforehand.

Its spout is not the most ergonomic one we’ve seen. It has a large juice hole that is very close to the base. As a result, you need a straight or flared glass to avoid drips. Also, its anti-drip system is not the most practical, as you have to turn the spout to have the opening upwards (which is far from obvious with fingers wet with juice).

On the other hand, it is true that its assembly is quite simple. Its parts fit together well and its two locks hold everything in place.

Finally, we found that the non-slip feet were effective and held the structure in place well.

    Functions

    7

In terms of power, its 400 W are enough to handle the many fruits and vegetables we tested: apple, pear, orange, kiwi, forest fruits, mango, celery, carrot, pepper and cucumber.

However, we recommend that you only push one apple wedge at a time, as it may not press well, even in second gear. The brand advises against using fruit that is too hard or fibrous, ice cubes and sugar canes. It also encourages peeling and deseeding the fruit.

To achieve all this, we were able to rely on its two speeds and its pulse function, the first speed already managing to centrifuge the majority of them.

We have found that, whatever the food, the result is very frothy | Source: Selectos

We found that whatever the food, the result is very frothy. However, it does not reject any chunks or seeds (when we made red fruit juice for example).

Overall, we found that the pulp could have been a little drier and cut more finely. The mango was the most difficult fruit to process and threw the biggest pieces into the collector. For this reason, we advise you to avoid the banana as well.

As far as the noise level is concerned, we have to admit that this Moulinex is very noisy. Of course, this is often the case with this type of appliance but here we are at an even higher level with 89 dB on the first speed and 94 dB on the second (compared to an average of 80 dB for other models).

    Maintenance

    7

Maintenance is much easier as all removable parts (collector, lid, pusher, sieve, juice collector) are dishwasher safe. You only need to rinse them first, as pulp is scattered throughout the machine.

This compatibility is a good thing: while the plastic parts are easy to wash, the sieve is much more complex. And finally, the most tedious part is the drying.

    Conclusion

    7/10

Moulinex manages to offer us an efficient juicer despite its low price. However, the juice collector is not included. This is unfortunate, especially when you know that the spout is so impractical.

Nevertheless, the results are still satisfactory, which makes it an option you can rely on as long as your ears are not too sensitive.
